M/Y Janie Concludes Successful Season in the Med The Janie has wrapped up a full and exciting Mediterranean charter season that saw her cruising between the French Riviera, the Italian islands and everywhere in between. From the glittering excitement of the Cannes Film Festival to quiet nights anchored offshore to sun-splashed afternoons playing in the sun, the Janie’s celebrity and international guests enjoyed memorable days and nights aboard. Don Edwards, captain of the M/Y Janie, a 157-foot Trinity that spent the summer charter season in the Med, was named “Captain of the Year” at the recent Monaco Boat Show. The award is given to the captain in Fraser Yachts’ charter fleet who receives the highest scores from questionnaires given to charter yacht guests. The questionnaire, developed by Fraser charter managers, asks guests to rate their charter captain based on a series of criteria that reflects the overall charter experience. Captain Edwards’ scores were outstanding in every regard. For his achievement, Edwards was awarded a valuable watch from Blanc Pain, one of the sponsors of the annual Monaco Boat Show awards dinner. Not only were the other captains envious of Edwards’ beautiful watch, but perhaps even more for what they all know the award symbolizes: excellence. The Janie has been featured in numerous boating magazines and continues to be a favorite of charter guests in both the Med and Caribbean. Built in 2004, she can accommodate 10 guests in five staterooms and carries a crew of nine. Her tender is a 34-foot custom Intrepid rigged for fishing and diving.
